Patient Service Representative

Scheduling responsibilities include answering patient calls and handling inquiries promptly. Candidates will be expected to follow protocols and service standards. The role involves scheduling appointments in person or by phone, confirming details, and managing rescheduling or cancellations. Candidates will manage patient arrival and departure activities such as collecting copays and obtaining insurance cards. Updating records in the EMR is part of the daily responsibilities. Communication of wait times and patient flow to both patients and staff is essential. Candidates will verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits. Obtaining pre-authorizations and referrals while coordinating benefits is expected. Regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local regulations is mandatory. Candidates must maintain patient confidentiality and safety. Anticipating patient needs and resolving issues promptly is crucial for customer experience. Building positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff is a key focus. Training includes a 4-day EPIC training followed by an assessment at the end of the week. A 15-minute HIPAA training module will also be required.
