Registered Nurse RN Intensive Care Unit ICU

Position Summary This full‑time registered nursing position is located on the 2nd floor of the ICU‑MOSU unit at Banner Ocotillo Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona. Nurses will provide care for high‑acuity patients and may admit lower‑acuity patients as needed. The role includes a 12‑hour shift schedule (seven days a week, rotating weekends and holidays) with a self‑scheduling tool, an 18% night‑shift differential, and a flat $3 per hour weekend differential when applicable. Core Functions Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history, physicals, diagnostics, and lab data; complete assessments and reassessments within timely frames. Formulate and revise patient plans of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the interprofessional team. Implement care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of healthcare team activities; ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plans of care as needed to meet goals and outcomes. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; maintain legible, timely entries that reflect objective and subjective data and interventions. Provide care based on best evidence; participate in research, shared leadership, education, orientation, precepting, and mentoring as appropriate. Contribute to community and professional activities that improve patient outcomes and promote quality indicators. Supervise staff and workflow in applicable roles. Interact with all levels of staff, patients, families, and external contacts, including clergy for spiritual support, to coordinate comprehensive care. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure for the state of practice. BLS certification required. One year of acute‑care hospital experience as a registered nurse in the specialty area, with recent (within 12 months) work in an acute‑care setting. Additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. For Home Health, a valid driver’s license and active auto insurance. For behavioral health roles, possession of required Arizona fingerprint clearance cards and criminal history affidavits as specified by the role. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional nursing certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
