Fitch Group is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Data Platforms & Applications based out of our New York office.  

About the Team:  Fitch's Technology & Data Team is a dynamic department where innovation meets impact. Driven by investment in cutting-edge technologies like AI and cloud solutions, we’re home to diverse roles united by a passion for leveraging modern technology to drive projects that matter.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Work as part of an agile team in design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale web applications.
• Build an internal portal application using frontend, micro-services, and event-driven architecture.
• Develop service-oriented applications to support the frontend and produce/consume messaging topics.
• Collaborate with DevOps and other squads on the CI/CD pipeline.
• Develop service-oriented applications to support the frontend and produce/consume messaging topics.

You May be a Good Fit if:

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and frameworks - PySpark, Pandas, and similar fullstack technologies.
• You have experience with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redshift or other similar. Strong SQL proficiency with demonstrated ability to optimize queries and tune performance across relational and analytical databases.
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Practical experience with data governance and exposure to data mesh architectures or data virtualization tools, cloud data warehouses and modern table formats.
• Demonstrated ability to design and build REST or GraphQL APIs with integrated data/ML features.

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $150,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
