Varsity Football - Head Coach

Job Details Location: 10900 Civic Center Dr., Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 Position Type: Seasonal Salary Range: $16.90 – $16.90 hourly General Description The Athletic Coach is responsible for organizing and executing the sport program at United Christian Academy. The coach will develop student athletes in competitive playing techniques, prepare them for events and competitions, and motivate them to appreciate the sport. The role is integral to the school’s mission and vision, and coaches serve as ministers advancing the school’s ecclesiastical goals. Reports to The head coach reports to the Athletic Director. JV and assistant coaches collaborate with the head coach to build a school‑wide program philosophy for the sport. Qualifications & Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications & Training Must be a born‑again Christian. Must be a credible Christian role model whose lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Bible. Must be able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian Conduct. Must be a member of an evangelical, Bible‑believing church. Must have sufficient health and physical endurance to complete the assigned responsibilities. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, parents, and students. Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must work well independently, manage time, and handle multiple tasks. Must follow directions and implement constructive feedback. Must work efficiently and quickly under pressure. Must have a positive work ethic, learning attitude, and development mindset. Must be self‑motivated, creative, innovative, and strategically thinking. Must work well with children of various ages. Must understand the importance of academic disciplines and issues. Must attend practices, games, and events consistently. Must be flexible and adaptive to change. High School Diploma required. Basic knowledge of rules and fundamentals for the sport. Previous coaching experience at middle school or higher level preferred. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches courses. First Aid/CPR Certificate. TB clearance within the last four years. Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance. Mandated Reporter Training Course. Sexual Harassment Training Course. Other trainings as assigned. Personal and Spiritual Responsibilities Display personal decorum that models professionalism, modesty, and good taste. Model Christian virtues in attitude, speech, and action. Model sports‑like behavior and maintain conduct toward other players, officials, and spectators. Model non‑discriminatory practices in all activities. Duties / Responsibilities Reinforce a Christ‑centered, competitive culture of athletics to coaches, faculty, student‑athletes, parents, and the broader community. Prepare and execute practice sessions for the team. Assess student‑athletes’ skills, assign positions, and choose team members. Provide appropriate, constructive feedback to student‑athletes. Evaluate and maintain the cleanliness and safety of practice and game facilities. Effectively communicate schedules and schedule changes to athletes, families, coaches, and administrators. Work directly under the supervision of the Varsity Head Coach to maintain program growth, consistency, and community. Partner with coaches of other sports to ensure the growth of all sports programs within the department. Maintain an inventory of equipment and uniforms. Physical Demands Standing/walking (70%), lifting (20%), climbing (4%), bending (4%), squatting (2%). Must be able to lift 15–75 pounds. Work Environment The work environment includes indoor and outdoor areas such as a football field, grass areas, and a gym. Shared space may be required; moderate to high noise levels are commensurate with a gym/outdoor/playground setting.
