Nuclear Medicine TechOur client, a leading health system in Colorado Springs, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Tech to provide diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures for inpatients and outpatients through the administration of radiopharmaceuticals and the safe operation of imaging equipment.ResponsibilitiesPerforms duties directly involved in a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides for the diagnosis, therapy, and treatment of disease, operating gamma camera/computer imaging systems, planar and SPECT and non-imaging equipment, producing quality diagnostic images and results for interpretation by a radiologist/nuclear medicine physician, and practicing all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).Processes radiopharmaceuticals from receipt and preparation through administration and disposal in a safe and efficient manner.Prepares patients for exams, provides information and instruction to patients and/or families regarding the procedure, and responds to their physical and emotional needs.Observes patients and equipment during procedures and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patients' conditions.Coordinates quality control procedures on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals according to department procedures and maintains records of quality control and radioactive materials for inspection by regulating agencies.Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required.RequirementsRequired**High School Diploma or GEDRegistered Technologist, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine R.T.
