About South Greenville Community Church

South Greenville Community Church is a new Southern Baptist church plant launching in early 2026 in the Moonville/Conestee area of Greenville, SC. Our mission is to lead people to follow Jesus who serve in community and love South Greenville. As a church, we value making disciples, building biblical community, serving our community, and grateful worship.

Position Overview

The Worship Leader will serve as a key member of the launch team by developing and leading the music ministry of South Greenville Community Church. This role is responsible for cultivating a culture of Christ-centered, grateful worship (Col 3:16-17) that engages the congregation and supports the mission of the church.  There is also training available if helpful or needed through our sending church (Greenville Community Church).

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead worship music for weekly gatherings and special events.
• Recruit, equip, and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists.
• Select songs that are biblically sound, theologically rich, and singable for a diverse congregation.
• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to ensure worship services are gospel-centered and aligned with the vision of SGCC.
• Oversee setup and teardown of worship-related equipment for portable services.
• Help lead and coordinate the church’s audio/visual, lighting, and presentation needs (ProPresenter, sound, livestream, etc.).
• Train and schedule volunteers to serve in AV/tech roles.
• Ensure worship gatherings are carried out with excellence, clarity, and consistency.
• Model a lifestyle of worship that extends beyond the platform.

Qualifications

• A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ marked by spiritual maturity and integrity.
• Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of South Greenville Community Church and the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
• Musical and vocal ability with proficiency in leading congregational worship.
• Ability to lead a band or small team of musicians.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience in leading worship in a church setting (preferred but not required).
• Flexible, team-oriented, and eager to serve in the unique context of a church plant.
