Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary Job Type: PRN. Schedule: PRN, Day Shift; work 2 weekend days a month and during the week as needed. Location: SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Oklahoma City. Evaluate and treat individuals in speech, language, oral and pharyngeal function, cognitive or communicative function. Job Responsibilities Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient. Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans. Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations. Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provide information regarding appropriate support programs. Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Master's degree. Experience: No experience required. Certifications: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 days of employment; other resuscitation certifications may be required depending on department. Licenses: Licensed Speech Language Pathologist issued by the state of employment (Illinois – IDFPR; Missouri – Division of Professional Registration; Oklahoma – Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology; Wisconsin – Department of Safety and Professional Services). Physical Requirements Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Frequent keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Rare climbing.
