HR Business Partner - Construction Date: May 13, 2026 Location: Overland Park, KS, US Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies Company: Black & Veatch Corporation Opportunity Type: Staff Project Only Hire: No The Opportunity In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Develop and execute Human Resources (HR) Strategies to support leadership in achievement of business objectives Provide executive level HR consultation by driving solutions for business needs Work collaboratively across parts of BV executive leadership and other COEs Provide employee relations support for the Construction organization The role will require 25% travelling. The Team By joining our BV Construction group, you will have the ability to develop and enhance your skills in an on‑site, hands‑on environment. Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering. Key Responsibilities Provide executive level consultation to the Black and Veatch Construction business area, including: creating and driving strategic programs, implementing programs based on business needs, setting strategy and executing, training, development, and skill enhancement, performance management, culture assessment and development, employee relations & coaching, identifying, planning and executing critical HR goals, cultivating a partnering relationship with executive level leadership, consulting and providing insights to leaders, acting as a change agent for implementing new HR programs, processes and initiatives, acting as liaison between division and HR functional areas. Minimum Qualifications 8+ years progressive HR and/or Staffing experience Workforce planning experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (for selected candidates) which may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business‑related field; Human Resources preferred Strong knowledge of HR programs, policies, and procedures and understanding of Human Resource Information System(s) Experience supporting and coaching executive level leadership Excellent problem‑solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve) Ability to manage several projects of functional areas concurrently Strong long‑term conceptual planning ability, business acumen, and ability to understand business metrics and financials Experience developing and implementing HR procedures that drive solutions for the business Work Environment/Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
