Title: Registered Nurse – Surgical Stepdown (Post-Surgical: Abdominal/Colorectal)

Location: Topeka, KS

Duration: 26 weeks

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-hour shifts | 36 hrs/week guaranteed

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care/Stepdown experience
• ADN or BSN required
• AHA BLS required
• KS or Multistate RN license
• No first-time travelers
• Epic experience required (test-out option available)
• Every other weekend rotation
• Must be willing to float to other post-surgical and Med/Surg floors
• Staffing ratio: 1:6
• Navy scrubs

Description:

• 32-bed Post-Surgical Stepdown unit
• Cares for patients recovering from colorectal and major abdominal surgeries, including colectomy, bowel resection, ostomy, and hernia repair
• Also cares for patients following urological, orthopedic, and plastic surgeries
• Provides specialty wound care and manages surgical drains
• Requires strong post-operative, progressive-care, and stepdown nursing skills
• Delivers safe, patient-centered care while collaborating with the healthcare team
