Manual Lathe Operator

Magellan Aerospace is looking for a reliable and motivated Manual Lathe Operator to join its Haverhill team. You’ll be working on high-precision parts using traditional manual lathes in a clean, safety-first environment. Location: Haverhill, Massachusetts Shift: 2nd shift only (start between 4 PM and 6 PM, 8-hour shift) Contract: Full-time, permanent Hourly rate: $26.00–$39.00/hr + 15% shift differential Job Summary We are looking for skilled Manual Lathe Operators to join our 2nd shift team. You will set up and operate engine lathes with high precision and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-standard aerospace environment. Responsibilities Set up and operate engine lathe machines. Read and interpret blueprints and engineering instructions. Machine parts to close tolerances (±0.001). Perform inspections using tools such as steady rests, wall variation gages, 4‑jaw/buck chucks, etc. Maintain oil/coolant levels and ensure equipment cleanliness. Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Participate in debugging and improving new methods. Requirements High School Diploma or Vocational Training in machining or related field. 3+ years of relevant machining experience (manual lathe operation). Experience with tight tolerances and quality standards. Ability to read technical drawings and operate measurement equipment. Strong team spirit and positive attitude. Experience with SPC, team problem-solving, and quality systems is a plus.
