Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager – Market Risk with a strong investment banking background and deep knowledge of securities, OTC derivatives, listed derivatives, and market risk processes.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing end-to-end projects across front-office, middle-office, and back-office functions, with expertise in complex derivatives, risk metrics, regulatory risk calculations, and financial data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery for market risk, trading, and capital markets initiatives.
• Manage projects involving complex derivatives, including interest rate swaps (IRS), total return swaps (TRS), credit default swaps (CDS), and other OTC and exchange-traded derivatives.
• Work closely with front-office trading, middle-office risk, operations, finance, technology, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Oversee initiatives covering trade entry, trade processing, risk calculations, valuation, reporting, and general ledger integration.
• Manage market risk deliverables involving Value at Risk (VaR), sensitivities, stress scenarios, shock records, model documentation, Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA), and SA-CCR.
• Coordinate project dependencies, requirements, testing, implementation, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications.
• Drive data and reporting initiatives involving SQL Server, Databricks, Snowflake, and data warehousing.
• Manage project timelines, scope, budgets, risks, issues, and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Ensure effective coordination across front-, middle-, and back-office systems and processes.

Mandatory Domain Expertise

• 15+ years of professional experience, with substantial securities and investment banking project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of complex financial products and derivatives, including:
• OTC and listed derivatives
• Interest Rate Swaps (IRS)
• Total Return Swaps (TRS)
• Credit Default Swaps (CDS)
• FX and exchange-traded derivatives
• Commodities and interest rate derivatives
• Municipal bonds
• Securities Financing Transactions (SFTs)
• Repos and reverse repos
• Strong understanding of market risk management and the trade lifecycle across front, middle, and back offices.
• Experience with risk metrics, VaR calculations, sensitivities, stress testing, and regulatory capital frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects in investment banking or capital markets.

Preferred Skills

• Murex or Nuvo Prime experience.
• SQL Server, Databricks, or Snowflake knowledge.
• Data warehousing and risk reporting experience.
• Experience with model documentation, shock records, stress scenarios, RWA, and SA-CCR.
• Strong stakeholder management and senior-level communication skills.

• New York City hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite per week.
