We’re seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Credit team in Salem, New Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a banking professional who enjoys financial analysis, commercial lending, and credit risk management while working closely with lenders and business clients.

What You’ll Do
As a Portfolio Manager, you’ll help oversee an assigned portfolio of commercial credit relationships while supporting underwriting, financial analysis, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze commercial borrowers’ financial statements, cash flow, and creditworthiness
- Perform credit underwriting and evaluate new and existing lending opportunities
- Prepare annual credit reviews, renewals, and risk assessments
- Monitor commercial loan portfolios for covenant compliance and overall asset quality
- Identify potential credit concerns and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies
- Assist with structuring commercial loan transactions and financing solutions
- Maintain accurate loan files, documentation, and portfolio records
- Partner closely with Commercial Lenders and Credit Administration to support lending activities
- Participate in client meetings and relationship management efforts when appropriate
- Prepare reports and credit recommendations for internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory guidelines, and underwriting standards
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio management, or commercial lending
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and commercial credit underwriting
- Experience managing or supporting commercial loan portfolios
- Ability to evaluate financial risk and make sound credit recommendations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
