Family Lawyer

Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Responsibilities: • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed This position will be responsible for important work, including: • Manage full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution • Independently handle decision-making on a case-by-case basis. • Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants • Work as part of a team with all levels of experience and be open to cross-training for coverage outside the associate duties. • Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients. • Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation • Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement Qualifications: • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Must have worked in Family Law for at least two years. • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas Compensation: $115,000 - $150,000 yearly

Compensation:
$115,000-$150,000 per year
