Job Summary

As a vital member of the clinical team, you will perform patient care duties within the scope of your certification, assist with treatments and procedures, and facilitate efficient patient flow. You will communicate effectively with patients, providers, and coworkers to enhance the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks accurately and timely, following provider orders.
• Assist with treatments and procedures, ensuring all necessary consents are obtained.
• Notify patients of test results as directed by providers.
• Document patient complaints, vital signs, and prepare patients for exams.
• Administer immunizations under supervision, adhering to legal guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and update electronic health records daily.
• Coordinate referrals and ensure timely processing of consults and diagnostics.
• Manage exam room supplies, medication samples, and maintain cleanliness and infection control standards.
• Participate in special projects and support a positive, collaborative work environment.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Medical Assistant Certification and Licensure as required by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 90 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of medical assistant duties and patient care techniques.
• Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
• Effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and patients.

Work Environment

This part-time PRN position offers 10-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek. The role is based in a regional healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest, providing access to a supportive team and a variety of patient care services.
