5602 Sanitation Laborer (3rd Shift)

Description We have an opening for a 3rd shift Sanitation Laborer. Summary: Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the facility. Procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book and kept in the supervisor’s office. Duties And Responsibilities Essential Functions: Responsible for cleaning the work area as assigned by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor, and must be able to perform these duties in all areas. Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the facility. Includes disposal of garbage with forklift, maintaining drains and floor ways clear. Operates production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning. Follows safety procedures to ensure the safe handling of chemicals and equipment. Measures and mixes chemicals per established procedures. Records work performed on the Sanitation Schedule at end of each workday. Maintains dumpster area in clean and orderly condition. Follows safety rules and company policies. Other Duties Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate. Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor or crew chief. Heavy work capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly. Visual acuity required to inspect work and facilities. Work Environment Works inside and outside with significant seasonal temperature variations. Some contact with sanitizing chemicals. Gloves, goggles and rubber boots required in some tasks. Head cover and beard cover required. Ear plugs due to machinery noise.
