We are working with an established financial services firm seeking an experienced Head of Fixed Income Operations to lead a team supporting a broad fixed income trading platform.

This individual will oversee day-to-day operational coverage across multiple fixed income products while partnering closely with trading, technology, compliance and other internal teams. The role combines people leadership with hands-on operational oversight and will have significant responsibility for controls, process improvement, vendor management and the continued development of the function.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team responsible for fixed income trade support and post-trade operations.
• Oversee daily processing and lifecycle management across corporate bonds, U.S. Treasuries, repo and related fixed income products.
• Partner closely with trading and other front-office teams to resolve operational issues and improve workflows.
• Manage escalations involving trade breaks, failed settlements, allocations and other post-trade exceptions.
• Oversee settlement, clearing and securities financing processes.
• Support fixed income prime brokerage and customer clearing activity.
• Maintain appropriate operational controls across the function and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation.
• Manage relationships with third-party technology and operational service providers.
• Support the implementation of new products, workflows, systems and business initiatives.
• Ensure operational processes remain aligned with applicable regulatory and internal control requirements.
• Develop procedures, controls and reporting to support a scalable and well-controlled operating environment.
• Serve as a senior point of contact for fixed income operational matters across the organization.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of financial services experience with a strong background in Fixed Income Operations.
• Previous experience managing and developing an operations team.
• Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle for corporate bonds and U.S. Treasuries.
• Experience supporting repo, securities financing and/or fixed income prime brokerage is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of clearing, settlements, trade breaks, fails and post-trade controls.
• Familiarity with DTCC/FICC, Fedwire and institutional settlement processes.
• Experience working with fixed income trading and operations platforms; exposure to systems such as Client, Pershing, Bloomberg or comparable platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of regulatory trade reporting and broker-dealer operational requirements.
• Client Series 99 preferred or willingness to obtain as required.
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen controls and work effectively across Front Office, Operations, Technology and Compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
