What you'll do at DBH

Patient Care Leadership: Coordinate and oversee psychiatric and medical nursing services for adult forensic patient populations. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that supports treatment goals and recovery outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote continuity of care and effective treatment planning.

Staff Supervision & Development: Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff through scheduling, performance management, and professional development initiatives. Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentorship, and address employee relations issues as needed. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes staff engagement and excellence in patient care.

Policy & Procedure Oversight: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical protocols. Monitor compliance with standards related to patient care, infection prevention, workplace safety, and quality improvement. Support the implementation and communication of new policies and best practices.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure nursing operations comply with all applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, including CMS and Joint Commission requirements. Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain regulatory readiness. Monitor patient care practices and documentation to ensure compliance and quality outcomes.

Resource & Operations Management: Manage staffing levels and allocate nursing resources to meet patient care needs effectively. Oversee the utilization of equipment, supplies, and other departmental resources. Collaborate with leadership to identify operational needs and support efficient department performance.

Leadership & Professional Excellence: Serve as a clinical leader and mentor for nursing staff. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous learning.

This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of 15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm, can vary depend on operational needs (Must be able to work weekend and holiday rotation). This position is located within our 1101 Summit Road, Cincinnati, OH 45237

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter. Additional Salary / Appointment Information: Professional Achievement Supplement: RN Supervisors, RN Managers, and RN Directors who have achieved the following education levels shall receive these supplements: BSN 1% Masters in related field 1% PhD in related field: 1% ANCC Certification: 1% (max 5%)

Qualifications

Position Qualifications: Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code; 24 months experience in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; 3 months training or 3 months experience in employee training & development; 3 courses or 9 months experience in public relations; 3 courses or 9 months experience in counseling.
