Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

This role operates punch press machinery to produce specialized metal products according to customer blueprints. The Machine Operator ensures parts meet precise specifications through careful measurement, visual inspection, and finishing, while maintaining a safe and efficient workflow in a modern, clean manufacturing environment.

• Operate punch press machinery to produce metal components according to production requirements.
• Read and interpret a variety of customer blueprints to set up and run jobs accurately.
• Use measuring tools to verify that all products meet specified dimensions and quality standards.
• Perform visual inspections throughout the production process to identify defects or irregularities.
• Grind edges and surfaces as needed to achieve required finishes and remove sharp or uneven areas.
• Handle and lift materials and products weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and guidelines while working with metal fabrication equipment.

• Minimum of 6 months prior manufacturing experience as a machine operator.
• Hands-on experience operating punch press or similar production machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints accurately.
• Proficiency using measuring tools to confirm product dimensions and tolerances.
• Capability to perform visual quality inspections and identify defects.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly during the workday.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Basic understanding of safety practices in a metal fabrication environment.

• Previous experience in a metal fabrication or processing plant environment.
• Comfort working with grinding tools and finishing equipment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting production schedules.
• Willingness to follow established dress code and safety footwear requirements.

The role is based in a metal fabrication and processing plant that features an air-conditioned building, new equipment, and a very clean, quiet atmosphere. The facility offers great lighting and an open layout that supports visibility and comfort. Steel-toe footwear is required for safety, and typical attire includes jeans and a t-shirt, suitable for a hands-on production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MADISON LAKE, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
