Position Summary :

The Salvagnini operator will be responsible for loading and unloading raw material for cutting and unloading of finished products. Responsible for the routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. The Salvagnini operator will work with various machines, tools, and fabrication processes to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

 

• Must be dependable, cooperative, with high diligence, and work well independently and as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of basic computer software for documentation.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings.
• Ability to identify different sheet metals and thickness.
• Set up machine by selecting proper program and tooling, adjust programming as needed.
• Selects, positions, and fastens punches and dies in machine.
• Position material in machine and perform operation to achieve desired result.
• Configure the stacker for palletizing when parts are complete.
• Perform finish grinding, sanding, or other finishing operation.
• Examine and inspect finished parts with a variety of precision and inspection measuring instruments, recognize non-conforming parts.
• Provides feedback to programming and works together to resolve issues.
• Understands and comprehends programming codes.
• Loads clearance dies per requirements.
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fabrication equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitors work assignments and communicate any concerns with Supervisor/lead.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures. Use protective equipment and follow proper handling techniques for materials and machinery.
• Ability to use a forklift.
• Sharpen tools.

Physical Requirements: 

The employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Lift up to 75 pounds, occasionally maneuver through lifting, pushing or pulling greater than 75 pounds. Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Education and Experience:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training related to CNC machine operation or manufacturing experience of 1-3 years preferred.
