Skilled - CNC/Manual Mill Machinist

Position Title: CNC/Manual Mill Machinist Salary: $52,000-$62,400 per year Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-4:00pm QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity for a CNC/Manual Mill Machinist position at a company in Machesney Park, IL. This is a 1st shift direct hire position. Responsibilities Operating & programming Haas CNC mill and lathe machines safely and productively. Ability to perform your own setups and produce quality parts from drawings with minimal supervision. Planning machining processes by studying detailed/complex blueprints and work orders; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Downloading/editing programs by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches. Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces. Partnering with engineering on R&D projects. Maintaining quality control through inspections. Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly. Requirements Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in a custom machine shop environment. Experience running Haas CNC equipment preferred but not required. Excellent safety practices and mindset. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple jobs simultaneously. Ability to read machine drawings/blueprints. Ability to take direction and follow through with assignments as provided. Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and maintain good attendance. Must work well in a team environment.
