About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required. License: Valid compact nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Travel experience required. - Full availability for 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). - Ability to float to other acute care departments within the facility. Description: The position requires a seasoned traveler with at least one previous contract. The nurse will float between various units as needed. Weekends are required every other weekend. The expected patient ratio is approximately 1:5. Candidates must possess experience with medical-surgical and telemetry patient care. Key skills include: - Blood product administration. - Central line care and management. - Feeding tube care and management. - Heparin protocols. - High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) usage. - Interpretation of dysrhythmias. - Isolation precautions and PPE. - IV insulin protocols. - Management of dysrhythmias. - Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring. - Peripheral line care and management. - Phlebotomy and PICC line management. - Starting and maintaining IVs. - Use of rapid response and code teams. - Wound care and wound vac management. The expected daily patient census is around 27 with a total of 30 beds available. The candidate will work closely with interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Travelers may be asked to float to nearby facilities if required. Candidates refusing to float may risk termination of the assignment.
