Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Cardiology (2 West)

Location

Birmingham, AL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13 Weeks | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Med Surg / Cardiology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Care for pre- and post-heart catheterization patients, as well as general cardiology patients presenting with chest pain, hypertension, and related conditions
• Deliver medical-surgical nursing care across a diverse general patient population
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate and timely documentation
• Operate standard acute care equipment in accordance with unit protocols
• Serve as first to float as needed based on unit staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Alabama
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Medical-surgical nursing experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiology nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Strong acute care clinical skills
• Flexible, dependable, open to feedback, and able to work collaboratively with staff and patients
