Program Specialist - Theological Education Collaborative - Grant Funded Position Position Category: Staff (Non-Exempt) FLSA: Non-exempt FTE: 0.50 (project end date Mar 2030) Location: Remote University Background The mission of California Lutheran University is to educate leaders for a global society who are strong in character and judgment, confident in their identity and vocation, and committed to service and justice. Basic Function Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Non-Degree Programs at PLTS, the Program Specialist for the Theological Education Collaborative Grant will perform a variety of responsibilities, including building PLTS's online presence in the Collaborative; designing training and communication plans; corresponding with adult learners and grant partners; and administrative support duties. Representative Duties Builds PLTS's online presence in the Collaborative. Designs training for instructors and users that is responsive to feedback from adult learners. Designs communication and marketing plans for PLTS presence in the Collaborative. Corresponds with adult learners and grant partners. Creates written and visual material to describe and promote PLTS presence in the Collaborative. Prepares expense reports, grant reports, handling purchase receipts and maintaining budget details and other forms on behalf of the Director. Provides direct support and assistance to the Director of Non-Degree Programs at PLTS for the grant. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical support duties to support the Theological Education Collaborative grant by professionally and effectively communicating with various stakeholders, staff, other departments, and clients performing duties, such as: answers telephones; relays messages to appropriate personnel; screens and routes calls; and provides information to staff. Organizing and preparing documents, including proofing and development of documentation processes. Provides technical support and other technology as needed. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge Of Website infrastructure and communication. Best practices and standards related to storytelling in communications and marketing. Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. High level knowledge and experience of Excel and/or Google Spreadsheets. Record-keeping, filing, and information organizing techniques. Effective written communication skills. Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel, Google Drive and internet searches. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations of people. Issues surrounding socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, religious, ability, and ethnic diversity both nationally and internationally. Public relations and customer service techniques. Ability To Utilize excellent organizational skills. Effectively handle multiple projects and tasks independently with consistent follow-through. Use interpersonal skills such as tact, patience, respect, and courtesy. Work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects, and exercise good judgment. Communicate in a poised and professional manner with a diverse individuals over the telephone, in written correspondence, and in person. Minimum Qualifications Any combination equivalent to: a Bachelor's degree and two years of communication and/or website support experience.
