This role will manage a significant portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across the United States and Canada, with a primary focus on premises liability, personal injury, and general liability claims. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal counsel, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and help drive effective risk management strategies that support company objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee a high-volume portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.Develop and execute litigation strategies in alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance.Direct and manage outside counsel, including case strategy, performance, budgets, and overall legal spend.Provide legal guidance to business leaders on claims, investigations, dispute resolution, and risk management issues.Oversee litigation support resources and manage all aspects of e-discovery, including preservation, collection, review, and production of documents.Analyze litigation trends and claims data to identify emerging risks and recommend proactive solutionsDevelop and enhance litigation processes, reporting, and governance practices to improve efficiency and consistency.Support compliance, policy development, training, and enterprise-wide risk reduction initiatives.Preferred QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active license to practice law.5+ years of litigation experience, including management of complex or high-volume case portfolios.Strong background in premises liability, personal injury, general liability, or related litigation matters.Demonstrated success managing outside counsel and driving favorable business and legal outcomes.Knowledge of litigation strategy, claims management, e-discovery, and risk mitigation practices.Excellent legal judgment, communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.Experience supporting large retail, restaurant, hospitality, franchise, or consumer-facing organizations.Familiarity with litigation analytics, reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives.A collaborative, business-oriented approach with the ability to influence stakeholders and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment#LI-KA1If an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
