POSITION SUMMARY The BorgWarner Information Environmental Health and Safety Intern Program is designed to provide a hands-on opportunity and environment to learn the profession of EHS at the entry level from the perspective of a Tier-One Automotive Supplier. We are seeking EHS Interns for the traditional spring and fall semesters as well as the summer months between the spring and fall semesters. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Integrating environmental, safety and health requirements into the planning, permitting, design and construction execution documents for projects Interpreting company, local and national regulatory requirements Evaluating and applying specialized scientific principles to formulate project scopes and plans Providing specialized environments, safety and health information in engineering and construction projects EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelors degree program (or 2 plus 2) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health & Science, Fire Protection & Safety Technology, Health & Safety Management or related field from accreditedcollege or University Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health & Science, Fire Protection & Safety Technology, Health & Safety Management or related field Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship KEY COMPETENCIES Excellent written and oral communication skills Priority Setting - Spends his/her time and the time of others on what's important; Quickly zeros in on the critical few and puts the trivial many aside; Can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal; Eliminates roadblocks; Creates focus. Pay Range: $21.89 - $29.86 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS Optional 401k available Flexible Scheduling Candidates not meeting the requirements will not be considered. Pay Range: $19.63-28.40 Internal Candidates: Eligibility to Bid Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher paying labor grade positions. Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration. Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job. Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year. Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year. If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year. If you were previously forced out of this job classification and are interested in returning to the position, you must complete a job bidding form.
