Assistant Director, MBA Enrollment Management Operations

Position Summary Rice Business is a globally recognized, top‑ranked graduate business school distinguished by its rigorous academic standards and a full portfolio of MBA programs, including Full‑Time, Professional (Weekend and Evening), Hybrid, Executive, and Online modalities. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean of Recruiting and Admissions, the Assistant Director of MBA Enrollment Management Operations will support the daily management of the admissions system, including the current CRM system (SLATE) and related platforms that guide the application journey for prospective students across all program formats. The role works in close collaboration with stakeholders across Academic Program, Student Experience, Marketing, Alumni Relations, and most consistently with the CRM lead. It also supervises the student MBA Admissions Ambassadors and manages the application interview process. They have strong organizational skills, a firm grasp of graduate management education, and are committed to operational excellence, service‑orientation, collaboration and resourcefulness. They are forward‑thinking and able to work autonomously. Workplace Requirements Position is on‑site at McNair Hall on a 5‑day in‑office schedule (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). Remote work is limited and may be approved after a probationary period. Duties may include late evenings, weekends, and domestic or international travel. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree (No substitutions permitted) Two or more years of professional higher education, system management, or operations experience (or an equivalent year‑for‑year education substitution) Strong knowledge of enrollment management system operations Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent planning and organizational skills Demonstrated creativity, problem‑solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment, and decision‑making skills Ability to accomplish goals through formal and informal channels with diplomacy and tact Ability to manage priorities and handle numerous time‑sensitive projects with conflicting deadlines Preferences Experience working in enrollment management Experience working in application management operations Experience working in graduate management environments Experience with Slate or a comparable CRM system Experience supervising student volunteers Essential Functions Subject matter expert for application management workflows from submission to final review Supervise full‑time and working professional student ambassadors facilitating community assessments Manage prospective student interview process and coordinate essential communications Own incomplete application process coordination and communication, driving completion throughout the cycle Support creation and refreshing of all CRM forms associated with the application review process Primary point of contact for all integrated external systems, ensuring downloads of external application requirements are linked to the application file Support management of term‑limited Application Readers for candidate assessment and initial reads of application packages Provide operational support during candidate evaluation in admissions committee meetings Support data, query, and report requests to ensure proper engagement with candidates during the application process Offer operational support to strategic partners during annual review of application updates Offer support to the internal annual review of application workflows Perform all duties as assigned Additional Functions Maintain relationships with other departments in Rice Business and across campus Recommend improvements based on findings Produce creatively designed reports throughout the recruiting cycle as needed, collaborating with the CRM lead Offer ad hoc support to Assistant Directors of Recruiting with events and communication needs Commit to continuous learning in graduate management education trends and the competitive market landscape to strengthen Rice Business’s position Act as a proactive guardian of the Rice Business brand, identifying misalignments and proposing strategic solutions to maintain integrity Benefits Benefits: Rice Mission and Values: Mission and Values | Rice University Hiring Range Commensurate with experience Exempt Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
