Histotechnician - Per Diem
$36 - $41 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a histotechnician for a per diem position in Monrovia, CA to process tissue specimens and prepare histopathological slides for microscopic examination. The role involves embedding, sectioning, staining, and quality control in a clinical laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
- Section embedded tissue using microtome and mount sections on microscope slides
- Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections
- Prepare and apply routine and special staining procedures to mounted sections
- Operate, maintain, and document quality control for manual and automated laboratory instruments
Requirements
- Associate's degree in histology or high school diploma with 1+ years histology experience
- 1 year experience as histotechnician or histotechnologist
- Immunohistochemistry experience
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Proficiency with routine histology procedures and equipment
- Experience embedding both large and small specimens
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Compensation: $36.00 - $41.00 per hour
