Histotechnician II

Job Responsibilities: Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining (H&E and special stains) according to established laboratory procedures Prepare high quality histology slides for pathologist review, ensuring proper orientation, thickness, and staining quality Operate and maintain histology equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, embedding stations, and stainers Perform routine and preventive maintenance on lab equipment and troubleshoot as needed Accession, label, and track specimens accurately through the histology workflow Perform quality control checks and document results in compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment, following biohazard and chemical safety protocols Assist with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining procedures as needed Report and document any specimen or process discrepancies promptly Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field, or completion of an accredited histotechnology program HT or HTL certification (ASCP) required or preferred, depending on placement 1 to 3+ years of histology laboratory experience, including tissue processing, embedding, and sectioning Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise tissue handling Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and documentation standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced lab environment Flexibility to work overtime or additional shifts based on business needs #J-18808-Ljbffr Harba Solutions Inc.
