About the Position
ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - RN must pass an exam during orientation. - RN must comply with fingernail policy regarding artificial nails. - RN's required to titrate drips. Description: The position involves working in a high-acuity setting with adult patients. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent care, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3 for adults. Nurses are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips. Floating to other units may be required. Minimum holiday requirements include 2 holidays within the contract period. Every other weekend is required. Additional time off requests beyond the initial submission will not be approved. Charting will be done using an electronic system. Nurses may assist with direct patient care tasks as needed based on census.
