Tool Room Machinist

Job Posting TitleTool Room MachinistJob DescriptionThe Tool Room Machinist is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify tooling, fixtures, dies, gauges, and precision components. This position supports production by ensuring tooling accuracy, quality, and minimal downtime.Job Description:Set up and operate manual machines (lathe, mill, surface grinder, drill press, hole burner, etc.)Set up CNC mills and/or lathes (prove out programs, set offsets, adjust tooling)Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawingsManufacture and repair fixtures, dies, jigs, and special toolingHold tight tolerances (±.0005" or as required)Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvementsAssist with tooling design modificationsMaintain tool room organization and equipmentFollow all safety procedures and company standardsRequired Skills and Education3–7+ years experience in tool room or precision machining environmentStrong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledgeExperience with tight tolerance machiningProficient in manual machining (critical in tool room environment)CNC setup experience preferredKnowledge of tool steels, heat treating, and surface finishesProficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipmentAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionGED or high school diploma requiredPreferred Qualifications:Experience with CAD/CAM softwareExperience in die, and/or fixture buildingJourneyman machinist certification (if applicable)About Dauch:Dauch Corporation is a premier Driveline and Metal Forming supplier serving the global automotive industry with a powertrain-agnostic product portfolio that supports electric, hybrid, and internal combustion vehicles.
