About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips Description: The registered nurse will work in a stepdown unit. The unit has 34 beds. Staffing ratios are 1:3 for stepdown and 1:5-6 for the floor. Registered nurses are required to titrate drips. There are charge nurses and transport nurses available during the day shift. Certified nursing assistants typically assist on the unit. Respiratory therapy is available in-house 24/7. The unit is equipped with telemetry, and there are telemetry techs who post strips each shift. Registered nurses must be adept at reading and interpreting cardiac strips. Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory. There may be a floating requirement to other areas as needed. Scrub color is royal blue. Charting is done using an electronic medical record system. All applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Approved medical or religious exemptions are accepted.
