Develop and maintain consultative relationships with customers and prospects in the following defined segments: Distributors, Home Builders, Roofing Contractors, Regional and Local Production Builders, Multi-Family Builders, Architects and Colorists. Thorough understanding of the needs of these segments and key customers within the segments. Responsible for expanding market-share and developing sales strategies.**Ideal candidate St.Augustine/Jacksonville.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComply with Westlake Safety Policies and ProceduresSell Westlake products and services in the assigned territory to achieve targets/quotas in Westlake Roofing defined segmentsWork with architects and designers so that the company’s products are specified in the original planning documentsInterpret data obtained from lead generation, industry/market data, research, and other reporting factorsConsistently drive product performance to achieve market share, sales growth, and ASPDevelop and maintain territory plans to achieve company and regional business plan objectives and sales goalsEstablish and maintain positive customer relations by regularly meeting and consulting with current and potential customersBuild a strong rapport with key decision makers within customers’ organizationsParticipate in local building and roofing associated trade showsBe well versed in customer business operations and their need for products, intangibles, key personnel, and customersProvide information concerning marketing opportunities and competitive products and companies to regional and corporate managersRecommend changes in company products, practices, and marketing activities to capitalize on current competitive situationsOperate territory business within a given expense budgetary limitFollow company safety and safe driving policyManage customer complaints in accordance with company policyCoordinate with accounting personnel to keep customer accounts receivable currentProvide technical advice to current and potential customersDistributing technical literatureArrange demonstrations and training sessionsOn a timely basis, submit all written and electronically transmitted sales reports and forecastsParticipate in prescribed sales, technical, and product training programs and directionManage company customer database information so it can effectively assist in matching customer needs with product offeringsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESStrong proven ability to grow sales territoryKnowledge of roofing products and componentsExcellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers, managers, and other levels of personnel in person, by phone, and emailStrong work ethic with leadership aptitudeAbility to multitask, plan and prioritize, organizedSelf-starter and results drivenProblem solving and decision-making capabilitiesStrong desire to expand knowledge, skills, and experienceUnderstanding of finance, accounting, and budgeting principlesProficient with Microsoft Office software, SAP enterprise software desiredWork independently and as a team in a fast-paced environmentDetail orientedWork safely at all timesMust possess a valid driver’s licenseAbility to adjust style to relate to customersHigh level of energy and enthusiasmPersuasive and resilientHandle confidential informationAbility to work within a team environment as well as independently managing time effectivelyAbility to travel 50 to 75% of the timeEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree preferred2 - 3 years' experience in functional role with building materials backgroundExperience in roofing industry preferredESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to:Prolong standing or in stationary positionComplete repetitive movements such as typingBe exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortableComplete repetitive movementsWear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)General Office Activities - walking, standing, sitting, talking, operating computer, cell phone, etc.DrivingLifting heavy materials; up to 50 lbsThis is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
