Production Associate - Key Responsibilities & Requirements Position Overview

• Work in a clean, modern manufacturing environment.
• Support production operations by packaging, quality checking, and preparing products for shipment.

• Location: Colonial Heights, VA
• Schedule: 12-hour Day Shift | 3-2-2-3 Rotation
• Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire with benefits upon permanent conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble boxes and packaging materials manually.
• Pack finished products, instructions, and shipment materials.
• Perform production line activities including:
  • Packing
  • Labeling
  • Material handling
  • Inventory support
• Conduct quality inspections and report defects.
• Support TPM, 5S initiatives, line audits, and production documentation.
• Assist with production line changeovers and workstation setup.
• Use RF scanners and inventory tracking systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform basic machine cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and schedules.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, packaging, or related environments.
• Assembly line experience with repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods (8-12 hours).
• Experience in:
  • Packaging and packing orders
  • Material handling
  • Inventory management
  • Warehouse operations
• Familiarity with:
  • RF scanners
  • Quality inspections
  • Production reporting
  • Performance-driven manufacturing environments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Stable work history with minimal employment gaps.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and squatting.
• Repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Constant grabbing and pinching activities.
• Ability to lift and move products up to 33 lbs.
• Comfortable working closely with team members on production lines.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in warehouse packing and labeling.
• Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and quality audit processes.
• General labor experience in manufacturing settings.
• Exposure to machine operation.
• Experience following SOPs and structured production procedures.
• Interest in career growth into machine operator or material handling roles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.42 - $21.42/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
