Bioinformatics Scientist

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join the Computational Innovation team supporting oncology drug discovery and development . The successful candidate will leverage data science, bioinformatics, and multi-modal omics analysis to generate biological insights and help advance cancer therapeutics programs.

This position will collaborate closely with biologists and cross-functional scientific teams to solve complex research challenges, develop innovative analytical approaches, and apply emerging technologies to drug discovery.

Pay Rate: $50.34/hour

Responsibilities

• Support oncology drug discovery and development efforts through computational and data-driven approaches.
• Analyze and integrate multi-modal omics datasets to generate meaningful biological insights.
• Develop and apply innovative bioinformatics approaches when standard analytical methods are not sufficient.
• Identify, process, and analyze publicly available and internally generated datasets using statistical and bioinformatics techniques.
• Collaborate with biologists and scientific teams to address research questions and advance drug discovery programs.
• Identify and apply emerging technologies in data science and bioinformatics .
• Stay current with scientific literature and emerging methodologies in computational biology and cancer research.
• Interpret, document, and present analytical results to biologists and scientific collaborators.
• Maintain high standards of scientific integrity, data quality, and reproducibility .
• Ensure FAIR data practices , clear documentation, and reproducible analytical workflows.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field is Required!
• Python and R programming experience for bioinformatics data analysis is Required!
• Unix/Linux experience is Required!
• Experience analyzing bulk and single-cell NGS data is Required!
• High-performance computing (HPC) experience is Required!
• Biological pathway analysis experience is Required!
• Strong understanding of bioinformatics, computational biology, and statistical analysis .
• Oncology or immunology experience is Preferred!
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics, methylation, or liquid biopsy data analysis is Preferred!
• Experience with public oncology datasets such as TCGA, GTEx, Human Cell Atlas, CZ CELLxGENE, or Human Tumor Atlas Network is Preferred!
