SUMMARY: The House Person is responsible for general cleaning and maintenance duties across all public areas, back-of-house spaces, and guest suites. This role plays an essential supporting function within the Housekeeping department, ensuring that lobbies, restrooms, fitness areas, laundry facilities, and offices remain clean, well-stocked, and presentable at all times. The House Person also assists guests directly with requests such as delivering playpens, and serves as an important point of coordination between Housekeeping, the Front Desk, and the Maintenance department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Public Area Cleaning

• Lobby: Clean all fingerprints off glass doors and the Registration Desk; vacuum lobby carpets and rugs as needed.
• Public Restrooms: Clean sinks, toilets, and mop floors; replenish paper products and supplies as needed.
• Exercise Room: Clean all mirrors and glass doors, wipe down all exercise equipment, take out trash, and vacuum the floor.
• Water flowers and plants for the entire exterior of the hotel (Seasonal).
• Maintain general cleanliness of offices and Front Office areas.
• Maintain general cleanliness of the Board Room.
• Maintain general cleanliness of the Associate break room.
• Associate Bathroom: Clean sink and toilet, mop the floor, and replenish toilet paper and paper towels as needed.

  Guest Laundry & Linen Support

• Clean guest laundry room washers, dryers, folding tables, and mop the floor as needed.
• Assist Housekeeping with excessive laundry volume when required. 

Guest Services & Special Requests

• Deliver playpens, and other related items to guest suites as requested by a supervisor, front desk agent, or directly by a guest.
• Accurately log all playpens deliveries, including suite location, in the Log Book at the Front Desk.
• Communicate changes in suite status to the Front Desk promptly and accurately.
• Accommodate guest special requests courteously and in a timely manner.
• Answer guest questions regarding hotel facilities, services, and local area information.
• Make sure there are clean towels, pillows, and blankets in the back office for after hours so if guests ask the front desk we have them. 

Maintenance Support & Coordination

• Assist the Chief Engineer in resolving guest complaints concerning the Maintenance department.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages observed while completing cleaning duties.

  Safety & Compliance

• Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and respond appropriately if needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with hotel safety protocols.
• Follow all rules as outlined in the M&R Employee Handbook.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management, consistent with the capabilities of this role.

  Communication & Professionalism

• Collaborate with supervisors on departmental needs and scheduling.
• Report to work on time and in full uniform, and uphold a professional appearance and conduct in all guest and team interactions.
