Cardiovascular Technologist

Job Summary: Performs a variety of standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests with accuracy and precision necessary to satisfy department standards and physician interpreters while projecting a professional image, conserving hospital property and assets and meeting competency requirements. Provides direct patient care.

Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology / Sonography and 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable. Required Work Experience: 3 years Cardiovascular Ultrasound Required Licenses and Certifications: Must be able to sit for ARDMS Registry in Adult Echo or Vascular Technology Required.

Essential Functions: Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role. Understands equipment operation. Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems. Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology. Perform required exams without supervision that meet quality standards of the lab and interpreting physicians. Act as a resource in area of expertise. Provide leadership and training opportunities to department through department stand ups and on the job training.

Additional Duties: Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization. Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintains current Knowledge in present areas of responsibility to include any specialty certification requirements (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs). Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
