Job Description

The Director, Global Allergan Aesthetics (AA) Forecasting is the interface between the Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy (PCS) team, the AA Finance team and the Global CoE Forecasting team. Key responsibilities include establishing and leading P&L modeling and forecasting standards for Allergan Aesthetics pipeline and business opportunities, designing and coordinating planning processes for the pipeline, driving deployment of methodology and tools to align AA methodologies with enterprise standards.

Core Job Responsibilities

P&L Modeling, Methodology & Business Development

• Own P&L modeling for Allergan Aesthetics pipeline assets and business development opportunities, delivering consistent, transparent, and decision-useful outputs.
• Partner with PCS, PCS Forecasting, Operations, and R&D to model development spend, timing, resource requirements, and commercial economics appropriately. Collaborate with PCS Forecasting on the revenue assumptions and build a P&L and finance metrics to be reviewed with management. Document financial assumptions.
• Pressure-test asset profitability through robust scenarios, sensitivities, and realistic assumptions across development, launch, and lifecycle stages.
• Leverage and adapt AbbVie Therapeutic pipeline P&L models to establish an AA standard; develop, maintain, and document methodology for spend modelling.
• Support Business Development activities by modelling the P&L, developing resourcing assumptions and support the documentation of the assumptions, both commercial and financial.

Planning Cycle Integration & Stakeholder Partnership

• Partner with Global AA FP&A, US Finance, and PCS Forecasting to establish repeatable planning-cycle processes, with primary emphasis on the Long-Range Plan (LRP).
• Define timelines, roles, deliverables, review points, and handoffs that meet Finance deadlines and enable well-controlled execution.
• Align assumptions, methodologies, and outputs across AA Global Finance, US and International Finance, PCS Forecasting, R&D, and corporate partners; drive effective handover into downstream planning and reporting.
• Identify process gaps and lead improvements that strengthen quality, efficiency, transparency, and cycle-time performance.

Forecasting Tools, Harmonization & Innovation

• Support harmonization and standardization of AA forecasting tools, templates, and processes to promote consistency and ease of use across teams and planning cycles.
• Interface between AA Finance and the Global Forecasting Center of Excellence to align AA models, tools, and methodologies with enterprise standards. In particular, support AI-enabled modeling and the Forecast Horizon platform within AA.
• Serve as AA’s point of contact for forecasting methodology, P&L modeling standards, and related tools; provide training, documentation, communications, and governance.
• Monitor emerging capabilities and recommend enhancements based on business needs and evolving enterprise capabilities.

Leadership & Influence

• Lead through influence in a complex matrixed environment, aligning stakeholders around common standards, assumptions, timelines, and decisions.
• Build trusted partnerships with Finance, PCS, Operations, R&D, Business Development, and Global Forecasting COE colleagues.
• Provide constructive challenge while maintaining analytical rigor and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
• Model AbbVie’s Ways of Working and foster accountability, transparency, quality, and continuous improvement.

Reporting

This position reports within Global Allergan Aesthetics Finance to the VP Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, consumer health, aesthetics, or life sciences, including substantial finance, forecasting, business analytics, and strategic decision-support experience.
• Experience partnering with business in a dynamic and complex matrix organization.
• Experience leading or materially contributing to enterprise planning cycles with defined timelines and downstream dependencies.
• Ability to establish modeling standards, document methodology, develop guidance, and drive adoption across stakeholder groups.
• Experience with forecasting tools, financial modeling platforms, or technology-enabled planning solutions;
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence effectively, constructively challenge assumptions, and explain complex models to senior finance and non-finance audiences.

Preferred

• Experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or businesses with complex pipeline and lifecycle economics.
• Experience with AbbVie or comparable enterprise pipeline modeling standards and governance processes.
• Experience with AI/ML forecasting, or purpose-built forecasting and planning platforms. Experience with data, visualization, or automation tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, SAS, or similar.
• International or multi-geography finance and forecasting experience, including leadership of teams or complex workstreams.
