Acme Industries is seeking an experienced CMM Operator to inspect precision-machined castings and forgings using Zeiss and LK Coordinate Measuring Machines .

You'll work on components serving a variety of industries including aerospace, defense, power generation, mining, transportation, and energy while enjoying the stability of a company that has been manufacturing in the U.S. since 1948.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

What You'll Do

As a CMM Operator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring precision-machined components meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, and quality standards.

Responsibilities Include:

• Operate Zeiss and LK Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using existing programs in Calypso and CAMIO
• Load, align, and fixture components for accurate inspection and measurement
• Execute inspections according to work instructions and quality requirements
• Verify measurement results and review inspection reports for accuracy
• Identify and communicate nonconformances to Quality and Operations teams
• Create nonconformance reports and transfer material to the Material Review Board (MRB) when required
• Support First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspections
• Perform basic probe calibrations and assist with routine equipment upkeep
• Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other inspection tools
• Maintain clean, organized inspection and metrology areas
• Adhere to company quality standards and customer requirements

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of CMM operating experience
• Experience operating Zeiss, LK, or equivalent CMM equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components, castings, and forgings
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Height Gages
  • Other hand inspection tools
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Calypso and/or CAMIO software (training available)
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems
• Technical training, metrology coursework, or related manufacturing education
