Registered Nurse Clinical Program VAD Coordinator

Your future role at a glance Location: Indianapolis, IN Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Department/Specialty: Cardiac Transplant (VAD) Schedule: Days | Full time | Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8AM - 4:30PM; Tuesday 7AM - 4:30PM; Friday 8AM - 3:30PMCall rotation required How you'll make an impact in this role Job Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Program VAD Coordinator: Patient Care Coordination: Manages and coordinates care for cardiac patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs) across the continuum— from post-implant education through discharge and long‑term follow‑up. Education & Training: Provides comprehensive education and support to VAD patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring they understand device management, lifestyle modifications, and emergency procedures. Clinical Monitoring & Management: Monitors patients for device function, complications, and overall clinical status, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensures adherence to institutional protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in patient records and databases. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire. What additional requirements you'll need Bachelors in Nursing Two years of bedside nursing experience required. Cardiac nursing experience strongly preferred.
