Process Engineer Intern

Process Engineering InternHGA is seeking a part-time Process Engineering Intern to support operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Intern will support project managers and engineers across multiple projects, gaining hands-on exposure to process analysis, data collection, process documentation, and project coordination within an industrial consulting environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing and maintaining process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, and technical reportsSupport the preparation of technical project deliverables for clientsCoordinate and collect process data required for engineering evaluations and studiesPerform basic engineering calculations and assist with process analysis under the guidance of experienced engineersResearch and compile technical information needed by engineers or project managersAssist with drafting, organizing, and updating project documentationParticipate in process reviews, field walkdowns, and site visits as neededParticipate in department meetings and collaborate with engineering team members across multiple disciplinesRequired Qualifications:Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesDemonstrated ability to complete tasks with quality and follow-throughSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced project environmentAbility to work independently while seeking guidance when neededMust be within daily commuting distance of Baton Rouge, LAPreferred Qualifications:Minimum 3.0 GPA in core engineering/technology courseworkCoursework in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, or process designFamiliarity with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or Aspen PlusInterest in refining, chemicals, pulp and paper, industrial manufacturing, or other process industriesAutoCAD capabilityPrevious internship, co-op, laboratory, or research experienceEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
