Construction Inspection Civil Engineer - Transportation | is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.Starting Salary Range: $85,000-105,000EFK Moen, LLC, is a civil engineering design consulting firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with additional office locations in St. Charles, Missouri, Chicago and Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Atlanta, Georgia. We are currently seeking a Construction Inspection Civil Engineer for a full-time position in our St. Louis, MO or Fairview Heights, IL Offices. Our company offers a locally competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.Job Description:The Construction Inspection Civil Engineer will perform construction inspection tasks on roadway/highway/bridge/site projects. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies - municipal, county and state. Project sizes range from small site or roadway improvements to multimillion-dollar highway projects.Duties & Responsibilities:The following duties are normal for this position:Responsible for the accurate layout of construction projectsEnsures that the contractor provides a quality improvement in accordance with the plans, specifications, and special provisions in a timely mannerProvide accurate and efficient measurements and construction staking as a member of the survey crewKeeps accurate and legible records of inspection field measurements and documentation of the contractProvide material inspection and testingKeeps the Project Engineer informed on the status of problems with the contractor's workMaintains records as directed by the Project EngineerPerforms duties in compliance with the company's safety rulesJob duties may require both field work and office workKnowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university required5+ years of experience in roadway construction, reading design plans, and specificationsRegistration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or Missouri requiredAttention to detail and basic math skillsWorking knowledge of surveying and construction layout preferredWorking knowledge of material testing and testing equipment preferredProficient in contract administration software, MoDOT AASHTOWARE, IDOT CMMS/ICORS is a plusOSHA 10 and ACI certifications are a plusWorking knowledge of CADD (Microstation of AutoCad)Working knowledge of DOT/AASHTO StandardsMoDOT, IDOT, or local public agency project experience preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and coworkersValid driver's license requiredPhysical Qualifications:Requires strong physical ability to lift and transport up to 40 or 50 pounds for extended timeDemonstrate flexibility and/or agility, as well as hand dexterity to operate equipment/toolsWillingness to endure a variety of weather conditions, as well as possible exposures to poisonous plants, insects, snakes, and animalsAbility to walk and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to commute and/or travel long distances and/or stay overnight at project locations for extended timeEFK Moen, LLC offers its full-time employees:Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid Company HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveHealth, Dental and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company ContributionCompany sponsored Short and Long-Term disability coverageCompany sponsored life insurance coverageProfessional License exam fee reimbursementBonus OpportunitiesSupport of professional organization membership and activitiesWork-life balance through a flexible, casual work environmentA culture of mentoring and teamworkEFK Moen is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.
