Software Development Engineer SDET

Position Summary Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Ascensus. You will work in a high‑energy Scrum team, developing and executing automated or manual tests throughout the development lifecycle, using industry‑best engineering practices. You should have a passion for all aspects of software development and be able to help build rapid development and deployment pipelines with a strong focus on automation and continuous delivery. Responsibilities Build and maintain the test automation suite using various test automation frameworks. Conduct batch testing, big data testing, integration and API tests to ensure system reliability and performance. Work in an agile environment, collaborating with the team to deliver quality software iteratively. Develop end‑to‑end test frameworks, test suites, and tools to validate product‑specific features and use cases. Incorporate automated tests into the continuous delivery pipeline. Conduct exploratory testing of new features and products. Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution. Assist with all Agile‑scrum tasks, including story writing, development, and manual testing. Apply Agile Testing Quadrants, Behavior‑Driven Development, ATDD, and TDD practices. Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Strong experience as a Software Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, or equivalent role. Proficient in developing test frameworks with open‑source automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cucumber. Experience writing automation scripts in an object‑oriented language such as C# or Java. Proficiency with scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, Perl, or JavaScript. Database testing skills with Sybase, SQL Server, or Oracle and a solid understanding of database schemas. Experience with performance tools such as BlazeMeter, JMeter, or Taurus. Familiarity with API testing frameworks, microservices, and event‑driven architecture. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in a fast‑paced Agile or Scrum development methodology. Remote eligibility requires an uninterrupted workspace during business hours and an internet speed of 25Mbps or better. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $120‑150k (actual offer may vary).
