Role Description The Estimator role at Catalyst Supply Co. is a full-time, on-site position located in Coon Rapids, MN. The Estimator reviews plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for windows, doors, millwork, decks, and related products. This role involves collaborating with sales team members, project managers, and customers to clarify project requirements, suggest product options, and provide timely and detailed quotes. The Estimator maintains pricing databases, updates product and cost information, and ensures estimates align with company margins and customer expectations. Daily work includes data entry, use of estimating software, follow-up on submitted bids, and support for order revisions and change requests. The Estimator also helps improve estimating processes and participates in internal meetings to align project timelines and priorities. Qualifications Strong estimating and analytical abilities, including reading blueprints, interpreting construction documents, and performing accurate material takeoffs. Knowledge of building materials and construction practices, especially related to windows, doors, millwork, lumber, and decking products. Proficiency with office and estimating software (e.g., Excel, estimating platforms, CRM systems) and strong data entry and documentation skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with sales, project teams, vendors, and customers in a professional manner. Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines. Prior experience in estimating, construction supply, or related fields is preferred; experience in a lumberyard or building products environment is a plus. Ability to work on-site in Coon Rapids, MN, and to engage in a team-focused, service-oriented work culture.
