Operational Buyer

Responsibilities Purchase materials for manufacturing as well as supplies and services for the facility. Build and maintain strong internal & external supplier relationships to achieve continuous improvements in delivery, quality, and cost. Participate in supply chain decision making. Prepare purchase orders and solicit bid proposals. Research and evaluate suppliers based on various criteria. Identify new sources of materials and ensure qualification. Negotiate prices and contracts within budgetary limitations. Support SAP data maintenance and procurement tools. Work with internal customers and suppliers to resolve claims related to invoices and quality of delivered goods. Requirements A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or related discipline. A minimum of two years of experience supporting a manufacturing setting. Proven ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks. Computer proficiency in an ERP system such as SAP as well as MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel is required. APICS certification is preferred. Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and supply chain decision-making within a manufacturing environment.
