Space Management Specialist.

Duties Plans, develops and implements real estate projects in accordance with U.S General Services Administration (GSA) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) space acquisition, management and administration policies, standards and procedures. Manages various aspects of the design and construction of EOIR Headquarters and Court facilities, including the development of space and acquisition plans, review of space layouts, and associated budget costs. Utilizes computer-aided design software to develop construction and renovation specifications and to plan, develop and recommend space changes and modifications. Reviews and evaluates cost estimates of projects and confers with the identified project manager on project-related tasks, i.e. signage, purchases and deliveries and moves and relocations. Manages and leads projects involving a variety of duties, including interaction with customers, analyzing space problems, evaluating space requests, developing space management plans, presenting briefings and reports and developing short- and long-term strategic plans. Keeps abreast of current, changing, and new basic real estate and leasing terminology necessary to develop space requirements, provide space planning and utilization support, technical advice, staff coordination and consultation on space management matters. Requirements You must be a United States Citizen or National. You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening. Qualifications To qualify for the position of Space Management Specialist, at GS-1101-13, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. (Please submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. If your eligibility for both merit promotion and/or time-in-grade cannot be determined, your application will be rated ineligible. Please see Required Documents for additional information). Time-in-grade requirements also apply to VEOA applicants having held a GS position in the past year. For The Gs-13 Level Specialized Experience Management of all aspects of projects to include acquisition, design, construction, renovation, and administration. Developing, and reviewing space layouts using computer aided design software (such as AutoCAD) to ensure functional requirements and design criteria are met; Oversee construction projects to verify completion and ensure that the project schedule and budget are met. Recommend changes and modifications to projects as appropriate. Monitor fund availability to ensure new acquisitions, renovations, or other improvement are within budget. Communicating with various levels of management regarding project schedule, status, and funding. Conducting project meetings with various service providers and stakeholders.
