This is an Hourly position. Uncertified Phlebotomists may be considered for the role but their expected pay for would be $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Phlebotomist II obtains blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures from any location where patients may be present for laboratory testing. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin sites, and performs venipuncture and skin punctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports same to laboratory for analysis. This position works independently and as a part of a team, performs clerical and/or computer duties associated with the laboratory, and provides timely specimen collection and routing of laboratory specimens. Maintains professional relationship with patients, staff, and physicians. Duties may vary by assigned area and/or shift. In the absence of a Lead, the Phlebotomist II may assist department leadership by performing essential lead role responsibilities. May assist in determining work priorities, may prepare daily work assignments, and may serve as a resource person for personnel resolving operational and patient care problems. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education High School Diploma or GED Licenses/Certifications PBT (ASCP) Other Skills/Knowledge Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field Licenses/Certifications CPR Certification through the American Heart Association Experience At least 6 months of experience in a team-oriented environment or customer service role Experience working with an electronic medical record (EMR) system, such as Epic Other Skills/Knowledge Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while working under pressure Ability to perform job duties effectively with frequent interruptions and/or distractions Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to exercise decisive judgment and follow through Positive and professional attitude and demeanor #J-18808-Ljbffr
