Estate Planning Paralegal – Roanoke, Virginia Gentry Locke Attorneys is seeking a full-time paralegal to join our General Commercial Practice Group in Roanoke. The paralegal will collaborate directly with multiple attorneys in the firm’s estate planning, trust, and tax planning practices. Responsibilities Draft estate planning documents, contracts, and deeds; confer with clients and beneficiaries; and maintain organized client files. Work well in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and seeing projects through to completion. The role requires collaboration with attorneys and support staff, and the ability to handle multiple cases concurrently. Qualifications Two years’ experience in estate planning, trust management, or tax. Knowledge of legal principles and practices acquired through formal paralegal training or its equivalent. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Strong attention to detail, including proofreading typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors. People skills necessary to communicate in person, by e‑mail, and by telephone, and to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff. Ability to organize and maintain multiple cases, including retrieval, printing, and distribution of large volumes of client files. Physical ability to push and pull packages and books weighing up to twenty pounds, and to retrieve and replace objects from shelves up to eight feet high. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week and may require irregular hours. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and willingness to learn and expand technology skills, including versatile cloud applications. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to travel locally and statewide to private and public buildings via private or public conveyance to assist attorneys in attending to client needs.
