Commercial Real Estate Associate (Mid-Level) | San Diego, CA | Hybrid
A well-established San Diego real estate and business boutique with more than 50 years of history is looking for a commercial real estate associate to join its transactional team.
What you’ll do
- Handle acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing across industrial, office, multifamily, retail, and land development deals
- Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related transaction documents
- Review title and run property due diligence
- Support lender-side financing, including refinancings and loan documentation, with room to build a financing practice alongside the partner who leads that work
- Assist with land use, zoning, and entitlement due diligence on development projects
- Form and advise entities, including LLCs, partnerships, and joint ventures with capital partners
- Build client relationships and contribute to business development (speaking and writing are encouraged, not required)
What you bring
- J.D. and active California bar admission
- 2020 to 2023 class year (strong candidates outside this range will be considered)
- Commercial real estate transactional experience in acquisitions, sales, leasing, or financing
- Strong drafting, negotiation, title review, and due diligence skills
- Bonus: experience with lender-side financing, land use and zoning, or entity and tax work
- An entrepreneurial, even-tempered approach and an interest in becoming a trusted advisor to clients
