As a Pharmacy Technician III - Prescription Prior Authorization Technician, you will practice with relative independence under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, completing prescription prior authorization requests. This role offers the unique opportunity to start with onsite training for 8-12 weeks, followed by fully remote work.

In this role, you will:

• Identify appropriate pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) specific prior authorization forms and submit requests.
• Transcribe prescription and patient information from EMR into PBM specific forms.
• Submit and follow up on prior authorizations within required time frames.
• Communicate submissions, follow-ups, approvals, and denials to outpatient pharmacies and clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate internal records of completed prior authorizations.
• Collaborate with outpatient pharmacies, clinical pharmacists, and provider teams.
• Stay current on ICD10 codes, drugs, and utilize department resources for accurate submissions.
• Maintain proficiency in basic technology applications for independent and remote work.
• Demonstrate positive and competent performance and collaborate with the prior authorization team.

Requirements for this position include:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required by June 28.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5+ years of high-volume retail experience required.
• 1+ year of prior authorization experience preferred.
• Need 2 years experience in setting.
