Senior Accountant

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, financial analysis, and technical accounting. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting month-end close, cost analysis, financial reporting, and continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, and production variances Maintain inventory accounting and ensure accurate inventory valuation Monitor standard costs and support cost roll processes Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions Support internal and external audits Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency Develop and enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting capabilities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Manufacturing accounting experience required Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory accounting Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory controls Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis ERP system experience required (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) Strong technical accounting and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Pay Details $38.00 to $50.00 per hour Benefits Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan. medical dental vision life insurance short-term disability additional voluntary benefits EAP program commuter benefits 401K plan Paid Sick Leave Holiday pay Our benefit offerings provide employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs.
